Delta @ 26, Nothing to Celebrate. – Chief Osiobe Okotie, Hail Buhari

26 Aug, 2017

A front line governorship aspirant of the All progressive Congress and 1st deputy president general of Urhobo progress Union (UPU), Chief Osiobe Okotie has called on Deltans to pray for the state for Gods intervention come 2019.

Chief Okotie who is currently on official trip to London and America while speaking to whistle blowers through a telephone conversation on August 26, stated that there’s no cause for celebration as the Delta State Government marks its 26 years anniversary, lamenting the height of infrastructural decay and under development in the state.

He stated that civil servants have not been paid their salaries for several months but officials allegedly stockpiled millions of our common patrimony abroad through their mistresses and cronies while Deltans wallow in abject poverty.

Okotie noted that there is corruption already as regards the usage of recently released bailout funds.

“They are stashing and sharing the bail out funds amongst themselves. they are using our recently released bail out funds to oil their political machineries for 2019 and also sponsor their party non elective Congress at Abuja, they are not using the money for the purpose it was released.”

According to him,” Though Deltans have been having issues with the problem of responsible leadership, the administration of Sen. Ifeanyi Okowa remains the worst so far in the history of our dear state.

The governorship hopeful who recently hosted party youth and women leaders at his residence before jetting out of the country said it is unfortunate that an Oil producing state like Delta despite the huge allocation that the state has received from the federation account over the years, there is nothing to show for it.

He lamented the decay in our health care and educational system, he wondered why civil servants and pensioners are left to die as a result of non payment of salaries. He called on the economic and financial crime commission to investigate the Independent power project (IPP) at Oghara with a view to unravel the mystery behind the over 25bn spent without any single thing on site to show.

“I don’t think there is anything to celebrate. We need sober reflection.”

Chief Osiobe Okotie who was visibly angry stated that the Delta State Government owes its citizens a duty to sew for them sack clothes so that they can mourn the wastage of their collective wealth by the tiny cabals who have held us hostage over the years.

He decried the high level of insecurity in the state and called on the state government to immediately mediate in the communal crisis between Aladja and Ogbe Ijaw with a view to proffer lasting solution to it. He further advise the state government to put mechanism in place to check the killing of innocent and harmless Deltans by violent herdsmen.

He however assure Deltans that there is hope for them as God has anointed him like David in the Bible to deliver them from this clueless and incompetent administration led by Gov. Ifeanyi Okowa. He advised that Deltans must come out enmass to register and get thier Voters card as that is the only weapon we can use to free ourselves from this corrupt manipulation and reckless squandering of our common patrimony come 2019.

He used the opportunity to welcome Mr president back to the country and thank God for the healing , Chief Osiobe described President Muhammadu Buhari as the best gift God has given to this country and encouraged him not to relent in his effort to sanitize the country through his anti corruption crcrusade.
