Speaking during the event ,Chief Osiobe who declared his ambition in the presence of party leaders and faithfuls congratulated the Party leadership for embracing peace and unity in other to move the Party forward and take over Dennis Osadebe house come 2019.

Also speaking at the event is the Chairman of Osiobe Vanguard, Chief Itebu who expressed absolute confidence in Chief Osiobe Okotie and his ability to dislodge the ruling People’s Democratic Party in the state, he urged other intending candidates to form a consensus and queue behind Chief Osiobe while describing him as a dogged and grassroot politician who has the capacity to deliver victory for our great Party come 2019.

The group said its advice became necessary in order to pick a candidate that will be acceptable to all and by so doing break the pattern of the party coming second during elections in the state.

The group therefore suggested that Chief Okotie, would fit in as a consensus governorship candidate for the APC.

In a statement jointly signed by the Chairman and secretary of the group, Chief Itebu and Barr Okrakpo, the group said Chief Osiobe could easily tap into the goodwill of the Urhobo nation and Deltans across the state to win election for the party .

According to the statement, “As supporters of our great leader, grassroots politician and current 1st deputy president general of Urhobo progress Union , we advise all Delta APC governorship aspirants to step down and adopt Chief Osiobe, as the Party’s consensus gubernatorial candidate for the 2019 elections.

“This is in the interest of party cohesion and to compensate our esteemed Party members who have been suffering the effect of being in an opposition Party for their loyalty since 1999. Chief Okotie as a successful industrialist and an oil expert is a tested and trusted hand who can deliver Delta state to the All Progressive Congress.

The group also called on leaders like Dr Ibe Kachiuku, Olorogun Otega Emerhor, Papa Ideh, Chief Hycent Enuoha, Chief Ayiri Emami, Chief P.Z Aginigan, Chief Julius Okpoko, Chief Great Ogboru, Hon Essien Okiemute, Chief Adolor Okotie Eboh, Rt, Hon Victor Ochei and others too numerous to mention to throw their weight behind his candidature.

They urge the Party leadership to avoid fielding individuals that cannot deliver their wards, not to talk of their household to the Party. The stakes are high for Delta APC in this elections, as we cannot afford to lose out in this election as always, bearing in mind that Chief Osiobe Okotie remains the only Messiah that can deliver us from this serial electoral defeat we have been experiencing as opposition members in the state.”

Speaking further the group said, “It is only Chief Osiobe who has the grassroot support and integrity to root out PDP from the state as a young vibrant and successful business man who have not done government contract or been accused of conspiring with any party to attract favor and political patronage.

“Adopting Chief Okotie as the consensus candidate will put an end to the infighting within the Party. This infighting has caused the opposition Parties the governorship elections three times. This is in line with a popular saying that once beaten, twice shy. Delta APC cannot allow itself to be beaten the second time having been beaten in the last gubernatorial election.

“We believe the people of Delta have suffered enough that rallying round Chief Osiobe as the political messiah is the answer to a new and prosperous Delta state.

Present at the swearing in is the Honorable Minister for petroleum, Dr Ibe Kachiuku, Chief Otega Emerhor, Chief Hycent Inuoha, Air Vice Marshall Ajobena,Hon Temi Harriman,Hon Julius Okpoko and others too numerous to mention.
