Why I Condemned Govt Response to assasination Attempt of Sen. Ovie Omo Agege, by Sanco Ese

It is unfortunate that Sen. Okowa is incompetent and lack the requisite skill of a good administrator, how can a state governor that is responsible and committed to security of lives and property hire someone whose motives and reactions are defined by extreme ambition and stomach infrastructure to be his image maker or make serious statements on behalf of government.

I actually thought that it was one of the handwork of overzealous supporters but after going through Latimore piece it became glaring that it was pre meditated as the heading of his pervasive, watery and senseless post suggest.

Fred Latimore is only good at blackmail and should not have in the first place hold such sensitive office as Executive assistance to the Governor. a person who is saddle with the image of this government.

Fred Latimore post should be thoroughly proof read by more competent and matured political media aides before posting out as any of his speech will be viewed from the position of government.

I also wish to state that the utterances and write ups of Fred Latimore is too childish and petty and as such eroding whatever goodwill left in this grossly inefficient and corrupt administration

It would be recalled that distinguish senator Omo Agege was attacked during his empowerment program in Uvwie local government area while narrowly escaping assassination by alleged thugs of the Delta state Government and wish to state as follows:

‘That the entire Urhobo nationality condemn in very strong terms the assassination attempt on the life of our son, Distinguished Senator Ovie Omo Agege.

That this event provokes a bitter reminder of the events of our recent past that led to the harassment and attempted assassination of our President general and other Urhobo sons and daughters who where on a peaceful rally in Asaba to protest the killings of Deltans especially the Urhobo nation by Violent Fulani herdsmen.

‘That the urhobo people will not stand by and watch a repeat of such dastardly actions that threaten the life of an illustrious son of urhobo nation

It should also be reminder to the Delta state government and indeed the wider world that the occupation of the office of the Governor of Delta state, is the product of the urhobo struggle and goodwill, for which we have no benefit, not even the 13% derivation of oil communities is been given to us as an oil producing community

That I join the call by Urhobo leaders, sons and daughters and other well meaning Nigerians to condemn the persistent acts of impunity perpetrated by the agents of Delta state government on the Urhobo nation, and ask for the immediate condemnation and disciplinary measures against the perpetrators by the Delta state government to show they are not part of the process leading to the premeditated attack on distinguish Senator Ovie Omo Agege.,

That the constant political motivated attack and act of impunity on perceived political opponent is a dangerous trend and a threat to our emerging democracy, we call on the Inspector general of police to wade into the matter and bring the culprits and their sponsors to book immediately to avoid further bloodshed in the state as peace is not the absence of violence but the presence of Justice

That Deltans demand an immediate investigation into the events leading to the near assassination of Distinguished Senator Ovie Omo Agege by the Nigerian police in collaboration with the Delta state government with a view of bringing the perpetrators to book

‘ It is important to bring to the attention of allies of acts of impunity in Delta State that since they cannot guarantee our safety in and out of our territories In the State, the urhobo nation may henceforth declare all such persons and culprits persona non-grata in thier territory
